Gezhouba Project on the Yangtze River was the largest hydro power station in ’80 and the first hydro power station constructed by Chinese. CGGC was named after wholly constructed the Gezhouba Project and famous for that great project.
Gezhouba Project is a typical concrete gate-dam, consisting of 3 navigation locks, 27 release sluices, 15 flushing sluices and 21 generating unit powerhouses, completed a total of earthwork 108.04 million m3, concrete of 11.458 million m3, fabricated and installed metal structure of 223,000 t, and reinforced steel bar of 76,000 t, installed 21 hydropower generating units with a total installed capacity of 2,715MW, and created 100+ records in Chinese hydropower construction.
